Industry Predicts Flood of `Killer Apps' Will Expand Wireless Internet

ATLANTA--March 2, 2001--As reality checks have set in regarding the billions of dollars being spent on deployment of next generation wireless phone and wireless web devices such as 3G, the CEO of MobileBriefs predicts that the future is bright.
Surrounded by the industry's key wireless executives at today's 2001 Internet Untethered Conference, CEO Michael Price stated, "Now that the infrastructure is falling into place, there will be a massive explosion in Killer Apps that will provide the reason for users to adopt both the new technology and devices."
Earlier this week, IDC announced an upward revision in its industry forecast for smart phones and handhelds to a $26 billion market by 2004. Many of these devices will be enabled for wireless internet access. "This is a clear indication of where the technology, and more importantly the typical user, is heading. Access to high quality content and services will provide the justification users have been waiting to arrive," stated Michael to the agreement of key executives in attendance.
MobileBriefs is one such Killer App. Built on a simple idea -- MobileBriefs had its inspiration in a long business commute where the founders were unable to find quality programming on the radio. This is especially true for continuous high-quality business content which is completely absent or minimal in most markets. MobileBriefs was founded on the belief that users should never have to settle for what someone else thinks they should listen to and should be able to decide for themselves with their very own personal business and news show -- tailored exactly to the topics THEY wish. Through MobileBriefs, users simply set their business topic preferences, commute time, and the service automatically "builds" a personalized daily show, both ways. Users simply transfer their personalized show each day from the internet to any mobile device (Compaq, Palm, Handspring, Walkman, any MP3 player, minidisc player, new wireless phones with built-in MP3 players, etc) and go!
Broadcasting is going through a major evolution from major Single-Channel Broadcast (i.e. ABC, CBS) to Specialized Broadcast (i.e. CNN, Disney, MS-NBC) to Satellite/Internet Radio to Personalized 1-to-1 Broadcast. MobileBriefs is building a world-class mobile broadcasting company which provides individualized business content delivery based on the user's preference. MobileBriefs is drawing upon a large base of exclusive business book summaries, business news, and best practices within the user's industry and job function to automatically build personalized broadcasts dynamically. The service will be available both directly and will also be privately branded through major worldwide telephone companies, portals, wireless network providers, wireless phone manufacturers, and portable audio manufacturers for their existing users.
