Dealership Parking Lot - Gets Birthday Bash and Very Own Tot-Sized,
Motorized Lexus With Vanity License Plates

PLANO, Texas, June 30 On Saturday, June 30, Lexus threw a
birthday party for a very special one-year-old. Isabella Alexus McDevitt, of
Plano, Texas, was born one year ago on July 1, 2000 in the luxury automaker's
Park Place Lexus dealership parking lot in her parents' Lexus LX 450.
During the party, which took place at the Plano dealership, Lexus
presented Isabella Alexus with a gift all her infant friends will envy -- her
very own tot-sized, motorized Lexus complete with vanity license plates! The
festive celebration included family and friends, cake and ice cream and a
visit from Chuckles the Clown.
"We were going to name her Isabella Grace," explained dad, Mark McDevitt.
"But after everything they did for us at Lexus, we just had to name her
Alexus."
It all started last year when Mark and his wife, Lisa, were driving their
LX 450 to Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. Lisa was going to have a baby.
While Lexus is known for its exceptional customer care, when a Lexus
dealership makes a delivery, it usually involves a new car. Not this time.
"When I realized we weren't going to make it, I saw the Lexus dealership
where I get my car serviced and told Lisa, 'That's where we're going,'" says
Mark.
He pulled in, informed the dealership personnel of his situation, then
went to work. While Lisa did the majority of the work, Mark and a 911
operator, on his cellular phone, helped deliver their new daughter into the
world.
A few minutes later, the ambulance arrived and carried mom and new
daughter off to the hospital. That was when Mark realized his Lexus was in
need of some cleaning. "The car was trashed," he says. Lexus immediately
offered to thoroughly clean the vehicle and provided a new Lexus to Mark so he
could rush off to the hospital to be with his wife and newborn daughter.
A few days later Mark and Lisa returned to the dealership to retrieve
their LX 450. About 20 members of the dealership staff poured out to meet the
baby.
