Lexus Announces Prices for Certain 2002 Model Vehicles
TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 6 Lexus today announced prices on some 2002 models, including the LS 430 premium luxury sedan, SC 430 hardtop convertible, GS 300/430 high-performance luxury sedans, and RX 300 mid-sized sport utility vehicle. Lexus' flagship LS 430, which is the best-selling luxury sedan in its class, will have a 0.37 percent price increase of $200 for a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $54,405. For 2002, the LS 430 is available in an additional color, Platinum Blue Metallic. The SC 430 hardtop convertible debuted in March as a 2002 model. Beginning with September production, the price will increase 1.0 percent, or $600. Additionally, due to the popularity of the optional Lexus Navigation System, it will become standard equipment, bringing the MSRP for the SC 430 to $61,055. The GS 300/430 high-performance luxury sedans receive no price increase for 2002. The MSRPs for the GS 300 and GS 430 will remain at $38,605 and $47,405 respectively. Lexus' trend-setting RX 300 continues to sell extremely well as customers look for a vehicle that combines the functionality of an SUV with the comfort and convenience of a luxury sedan. For 2002, the MSRP for the RX 300 will not increase, continuing at $33,955 for the front-wheel-drive model and $35,705 for the all-wheel-drive model. Prices for the 2002 IS 300 compact sport sedan were recently announced. The MSRP for the IS 300 E-Shift model will remain at the 2001 level of $30,805. New for 2002 is the 5-speed manual version, which has an MSRP of $29,435, and the IS 300 SportCross with an MSRP of $32,305. The delivery, processing and handling fee for the IS 300 will remain at $545. For the other models, the fee will increase $30 to $575. This change will be effective Sept. 1 for the SC 430 and will become effective for all other 2002 models as they are introduced.
