Mitsubishi Motors Announces 2002 Model Prices

CYPRESS, Calif., Aug. 16 Mitsubishi Motors Sales of
America, Inc. (MMSA) today announced suggested retail pricing for most
2002 models, including the all-new Lancer sedan. Providing extraordinary
value for consumers, the prices reflect an increase that averages less than
one percent per model over the previous year.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRPs) announced today include
pricing information for the Mitsubishi Lancer, which provides drivers with the
comfort, style and performance of a mid-sized sedan -- but the price of a
compact. The all-new vehicle will come roaring into dealer showrooms this
fall.

"The Lancer offers a very appealing package to young people and new
families," said Pierre Gagnon, president and chief operating officer of
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America. "Our brand connects very well with young
buyers, and we expect the Lancer will only strengthen that position."

The 2002 Lancer will be available in three distinct models and each will
have a unique personality. The ES serves as the value leader of the Lancer
family. The LS incorporates more luxurious appointments and a premium look.
The OZ Rally edition incorporates race-inspired appearance enhancements for a
sporty look and feel. All three models are powered by a Mitsubishi 2.0 liter,
16-valve, 4-cylinder engine that provides 120 horsepower and 130 lb.-ft. of
