Eaton Proudly Presents the 2001 Woodward Dream Cruise

ROYAL OAK, Mich.--Aug. 17, 2001--Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation is proud to present the 2001 Woodward Dream Cruise to be held Saturday, August 18, 2001. Eaton has been the major sponsor of this event, billed as the largest one-day automotive event in the world, since 1999 and will continue its partnership through 2002.
In Honor of Eaton Corporation's 90th Anniversary this year, Eaton's Automotive Group will unveil its Innovation Hall of Fame with a special display for Eaton guests at Pioneer Park in Royal Oak, Eaton's home for the dream cruise. Eaton is supporting charity activities in Pontiac and sponsoring a 1/4 scale racecar, number 90, in the Royal Oak Grand National charity race with driver Brent Gottfried, a 15-year veteran racer from Toledo, Ohio. Eaton will also participate in the Berkley parade to officially kick off the dream cruise by driving Grand Marshall Mickey Redmond, former Detroit Red Wing star, in a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible.
"This event gives us an opportunity to mark Eaton's 90th anniversary as we celebrate the history of the automobile - something we are passionate about at Eaton," said Glenn Gouldey, Vice President of Automotive Strategic Technology and Planning.
"Many of the vehicles you will see on Woodward this year are equipped with Eaton performance products including superchargers, valvetrain components, lockers and limited slip differentials. Eaton products continue to drive innovation through our key areas of focus including engine air management, powertrain and specialty controls."
Eaton has been focusing its automotive strategy and resources on fuel economy, safety and environmental impact. Other product examples include advanced Gasoline vapor controls, common rail Diesel fuel controls, and patented ULV(R) Ultralite engine valves, a finalist for the 2001 Automotive News PACE(R) award for product innovation.
