Motorcycle Mechanics Institute offers HonTech at Orlando campus

October 1, 2001

Torrance, CA -- American Honda is pleased to announce that the Motorcycle
Mechanics Institute (MMI) is now offering their highly-regarded HonTech training
program to aspiring Honda motorcycle technicians at their Orlando, Florida
campus.

MMI, the nation's leading motorcycle technical training school, first launched
HonTech at their Phoenix, Arizona campus in 1986. The HonTech curriculum teaches
students to diagnose and repair Honda motorcycles, ATVs and scooters. Students
enroll in HonTech after completing a 33-week basic motorcycle technician
training program.

The 12-week elective program has been a tremendous success. Last year alone,
372 HonTech graduates entered the surging motorcycle dealer technician labor
market. Since 1986, over 2300 students have graduated from the Phoenix program
and 95% have gone on to careers at Honda motorcycle dealerships throughout the
country.

"With the addition of the HonTech program here in Orlando, we will have the
capacity to nearly double our enrollment nationwide," said Bernie Thompson,
campus director of education at MMI. "We are very grateful to American Honda for
their outstanding support in our partnership to train America's future Honda
technicians."

American Honda has supplied over $200,000 in motorcycles, ATVs, scooters,
engines, special tools, parts, chemicals and lubricants, and training aids to
support the start-up of HonTech at the MMI Orlando campus.

Honda Motorcycle Division Vice President Silvio Carrara said, "The success of
HonTech is very important to us. People are buying Honda products like never
before, and they expect their Honda dealer to have highly skilled technicians.
MMI, through HonTech, is meeting the challenge and fulfilling a critical need by
training these technicians."
