Dana to Provide Advanced Front and Rear Axles for Three Land Rover Vehicles
TOLEDO, Ohio, Oct. 30 -- Dana Corporation announced today that its Traction Technologies Group has been selected to supply front and rear axles to support Land Rover's future platform initiatives in the premium sport-utility market.
The high-volume family of advanced, four-wheel drive vehicles will incorporate a variety of innovative traction systems supplied by Dana to achieve a new standard in driver satisfaction. Both the front and rear axles feature industry-leading refinements in efficiency, performance, and acoustics.
``This new program supports our efforts to work closely with customers globally to develop the traction technology needed for next-generation vehicles,'' said Joe Magliochetti, Dana chairman and CEO. ``The nature and scope of these programs demand a supplier that is innovative, quality-driven, and global. Being chosen by a company such as Land Rover is representative of Dana's leadership in these areas.''
``The challenge we have embraced is two-fold: satisfying the robust nature of axle durability required to further the heritage of Land Rover vehicles, and meeting world-class demand for acoustic refinement,'' added Bill Carroll, president of Dana's Automotive Systems Group.
Other recent Dana traction technologies include the integrated front pan axle, the Hydra-Lok(TM) limited-slip differential, the TXT(TM) differential, and the Dual Advantage(TM) dual-disconnect system.
