AAA-CMC Provides Useful Tool for Safe Winter Driving

AURORA, Ill., Dec. 06 -- Since 1902, AAA has placed the highest priority on traffic safety for the motorist. As part of that effort, in 1995, the AAA-Chicago Motor Club spearheaded the formation of a coalition of federal, state and private agencies in Illinois and Indiana known as ``Ice Pack.'' The group's mission is to save lives by providing information on safe driving in winter weather conditions. The message from the Ice Pack coalition is simple:

Travel smart, travel informed. Before you hit the roads visit www.icepack.org .

``Ice Pack is dedicated to increasing motorists' awareness of critical winter safety measures,'' said Mark Bruno, spokesman for AAA-CMC. ``By joining forces, the Ice Pack agencies are sending a strong and unified safety message.''

The Ice Pack web site is the source for winter weather driving information. Its purpose is to help motorists prepare for winter travel. The site provides information on preparing a vehicle for winter and surviving a tough season, while providing direct links to expressway travel times, statewide road conditions and up-to-the-minute weather forecasts. By visiting www.icepack.org , motorists are one click closer to a safer winter season behind the wheel.

The AAA-Chicago Motor Club is a not-for-profit, tax paying membership organization serving more than 790,000 members and the general public in Illinois and northern Indiana. The AAA-Chicago Motor Club provides automotive, insurance, travel and financial services, and is a member of The Auto Club Group
