GMC Announces 2002 Envoy XL Pricing
DETROIT - General Motors' GMC division today announced pricing for the all-new, award-winning 2002 Envoy XL will start at $31,595 for the base two-wheel-drive SLE model and $36,595 for the uplevel four-wheel-drive SLT. Prices include a $600 destination charge. Sales begin in spring, 2002.
"For some time now, consumers have requested more comfort in their SUV," said Tony DiSalle, Envoy brand manager. "Both Envoy and Envoy XL have been engineered to surpass customer expectations. Within the Envoy family, we have the best of all worlds offering consumers best-in-class five- and seven-passenger models with unprecedented levels of comfort, performance, ride quality, roominess and amenities," he added.
The spacious Envoy XL is 16-inches longer and three inches taller than the five passenger model. It features segment-leading roominess with an astounding 100.2 cu. ft of maximum cargo space, 18.9 cubic feet more than the seven-passenger Ford Explorer and 12.3 cubic feet more than the Dodge Durango. Envoy XL also has more head-, leg-, hip-, and shoulder room than most midsize sport utilities.
Envoy XL's segment-superior standard third row seat offers six more inches of shoulder room than the 2002 Ford Explorer and can seat two 6.2' adult males comfortably. Its theatre style seating position provides a commanding view of the road.
Envoy XL offers the same bold styling, superior comfort, outstanding ride quality, unmatched performance and a surprisingly high level of standard features and content as the five-passenger model.
The base SLE boasts a list of over 40 key standard features such as Next Generation OnStarÒ services, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, PassLockÒ theft deterrent system, dual front/side airbags, trailering package, power doors/locks, cruise control, remote keyless entry and more.
The richly appointed SLT takes it a step further by offering leather trim, heated seats, optional BoseÒ audio system, six-CD changer, a six-language driver information center, electronic dual zone HVAC, headlamp washer system, seat and mirror memory, power passenger seat and more, in addition to standard SLE content.
Envoy's five- and seven-passenger models also offer the world's first factory-installed Rear Seat DVD Entertainment System. The state of the art GM system includes a seven-inch Wide-Screen liquid crystal display capable of playing studio quality audio/video in DVD and CD formats.
