Audi of America Sponsors Aluminum by Design Exhibit

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., May 29 -- Audi of America, Inc. is proud to announce its support of the Aluminum by Design: Jewelry to Jets exhibition at Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The show will be on display from June 1, 2002, to August 25, 2002, with a special VIP and members' opening reception on May 31, 2002.

The Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh organized this exhibit which showcases items that trace the history of aluminum from its debut at the 1855 Paris Exhibition as an exotic metal used in luxury goods to its present use in high technology. The Cranbrook presentation is made possible by Audi, which also provided significant support for the international exhibition. After showing in Michigan, the display will head overseas to the Design Museum in London, England.

"Aluminum by Design is a comprehensive exhibition that offers an international audience an opportunity to better understand the enormous contributions that this metal has made throughout history," stated Maria Nahigian, Audi's event marketing manager. "We hope the community will embrace and enjoy this cultural and educational exhibit."

As an industry leader focused on providing exceptional products with advanced technology, performance, visionary design and emotional experiences, Audi's innovative ideas have made consistent contributions to automotive development and advancement. One such achievement is the use of aluminum in Audi's flagship A8. After several years of research and perseverance, Audi has made this incredible metal an essential component of the A8, which reinforces the importance of Audi's support of Aluminum by Design: Jewelry to Jets. An Audi A8 Aluminum Space Frame® will be displayed throughout the exhibit.
