FOR RELEASE: June 12, 2002

GM's Western Region Donates Vehicle In Support Of Make-A-Wish® Fundraiser

2002 Chevy Avalanche is Top Prize in Raffle to Help Raise Funds for Children with Life-threatening Illnesses

Denver, CO.- General Motors' Western Region is donating a 2002 Limited Edition Chevy Avalanche to the Make-a-Wish Foundation® (MAWF). The vehicle is being offered as the prize from a raffle in connection with Bob Goen's Celebrity Invitational June 22-24 in Colorado Springs.

GM's donation is part of a three-year agreement with MAWF to help raise funds for the Denver-based charity in granting the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. As part of its commitment, GM will provide a vehicle to MAWF to be the featured prize at a drawing during the charity's annual fundraising gala.

This year's gala includes a two-day golf tournament followed by an awards banquet where the winning ticket will be drawn. Bob Goen's Celebrity Invitational has raised more than $750,000 for MAWF over the past five years.

MAWF, established in 1980, grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. It is the nation's largest wish-granting charity, with thousands of children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 receiving wishes each year.
