Decorate Your Jalopy in Duck Tape and be Eligible to Win $2,500; First Annual Stuck in Traffic Contest Requires Photo of Car Decorated With Duct Tape

AVON, Ohio--June 28, 2002--Do you have an old jalopy that's headed for the junkyard?
Or perhaps your teenager's parked clunker is a chronic eyesore in your driveway? Neither car is worth a new paint job, you say? Not to worry, just dress up the car in duct tape and enter the first annual Duck(R) brand duct tape Stuck in Traffic Contest, with the chance of winning first prize of $2,500 cash.
This special opportunity lets individuals give their car an innovative and original makeover. Beyond relaxing the strain on their budgets, drivers can use their imagination and lots of tape to create their own auto fashion style from both standard silver gray duct tape and a variety of different duct tapes (the Duck brand offers a variety of colors and patterns of tape, including camouflage and fluorescent yellow, orange, green and pink).

    WHAT

The Duck brand duct tape Stuck in Traffic Contest, sponsored by Henkel Consumer Adhesives, Inc., will award the 1st place winner $2,500 for their creativity in covering or partially covering an operable or non-operable vehicle with duct tape in a creative and original manner.
The 2nd place winner will receive $1,000 while the 3rd place winner will win $500. A limited number of Honorable Mention Winners will receive a Duck Tape sportswear package.

    HOW TO ENTER

For a registration form and official contest rules, interested individuals should go to www.ducktapeclub.com after May 20, 2002. Contest participants will need to submit a photo of their duct taped vehicle. The winner will be selected based on a number of criteria including originality, quantity of Duck Tape used, and use of colors.
The winners will be determined by a panel of judges, including Tim & Jim, the famed Duct Tape Guys, and Todd Scott, renowned Canadian duct tape sculptor. Photos and entries must be received by August 9, 2002. The panel of celebrity judges will announce their decisions after September 4, 2002. Winners will be notified soon thereafter and their names will be posted on the website.
