Mercedes-Benz USA Responds to Price Fixing Allegations

MONTVALE, N.J., July 19 -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) issued the following statement in response to inquiries about a federal government investigation into allegations of price fixing:

"The only allegations that we are aware of relate to civil litigation stemming from unsubstantiated public comments from a terminated dealer which has been pending for several years and which we feel has no merit. This appears to be the information that prompted the Federal Government investigation. We are confident that once the facts are brought out, it will be clear that there was no wrongdoing. While we believe that the allegations are without substance, we elected to disclose the government inquiry in our SEC filing in the interest of transparency."
