Tele Atlas and Skoda Jointly Present Navigation Premiere

Tele Atlas and Skoda Auto present the first ever navigation CD for the Czech Republic at the Automechanika exhibition in Frankfurt. This premiere is the result of close cooperation between the renowned car manufacturer and the worldwide leader in the development of digital geographical databases. The CD for Blaupunkt's TravelPilot DX platform includes the major road network for the whole country and the full street network in the cities of Prague, Mlada Boleslav und Kosmonosy. In addition, 6,200 city centres and 6,700 points of interest (POIs) like petrol stations, airports and car parks can be selected. More than 2,000 restaurants and nearly 350 hotels support the traveller. Furthermore, 1,700 TravelGuide services make life easier. These additional destinations are listed in categories for business (ATMs, companies, conference centres) for emergencies (dentists, doctors, pharmacies), for entertainment ( cinemas, concert halls, museums) and many more.
Skoda Auto has been integrating navigation systems into its vehicles since 1998. From now on, all Skoda automobiles from the model ranges Superb, Octavia and Fabia equipped with navigation systems can be ordered with the navigation CD "Czech Republic". At a later date, other manufacturers will offer this bundle, too. In the aftermarket, the CD will be offered for compatible systems of the Volkswagen group and for similarly equipped cars manufactured by Alfa, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Lancia, Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot.
