Maker of the Original Super Glue Unveils Waterproof Epoxy

LAS VEGAS, Booth # 2633, Nov. 5 -- The Super Glue Corporation and its parent company, Pacer Technology, today unveil an easy-to-measure, waterproof epoxy adhesive designed to use on automobiles and recreational vehicles.

The Anchor-Tite(TM) Epoxy System, showcased by Super Glue this week at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) 2002 in Las Vegas, is a two-part, advanced industrial strength adhesive made to use on any part of a vehicle, including aluminum, plastic, rubber and steel surfaces. It is packaged in an easy-to-use, pre-measured applicator and has 30 percent flexibility while standard epoxies have less than 5 percent.

"Not only is Anchor-Tite easy to use, but it also does what consumers demand from an epoxy that wasn't available until today -- it works in contact with, or under, water," said Ron Gravette, vice president of sales and marketing for the Super Glue Corporation. "Whether in warm or cold water, Anchor-Tite can be applied and will bond."

At AAPEX, Super Glue executives will demonstrate Anchor-Tite's multiple uses to retail buyers. The automotive adhesive is one of six in the Anchor-Tite product lines being introduced. Other versions of the product include landscape and plumbing, household, pool and spa, marine, and sports and field varieties.

Among the benefits of Anchor-Tite include a 2,500-pound steel-to-steel bond, resistance to shrinking and expansion, extended time (one hour) to set parts and a setting time of less than four hours (full cure in 24 hours). Each of the six lines cures in a different color. The automotive line cures in black. Anchor-Tite is available for shipping to hardware, retail, automotive and specialty stores; suggested retail price is $6.99.
