2003 North American International Auto Show Industry Preview Days Attendance Reaches more than 27,000

DETROIT, Jan. 10, 2003; The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) today announced that more than 27,000 people, representing more than 1,800 companies, attended the 2003 Industry Preview Days, January 8 and 9.

New for this year were two panel discussions: a Wednesday, January 8 panel hosted by WJR-AM 760, and a Thursday, January 9 panel hosted by WWJ Newsradio 950 and AutoBeat Daily.

WJR-AM's discussion panel titled "The Sum of Three," was moderated by Paul W. Smith and featured top automotive executives including Steve Lyons, president of Ford Division; Gary Cowger, president of North American Operations, General Motors; and Jim Sherer, executive vice president of sales and marketing, DaimlerChrysler.

The WWJ Newsradio 950 and AutoBeat Daily panel, "The Automotive Supplier Forum: Fixing the Business Model," was moderated by WWJ's John McElroy and featured top executives from leading automotive suppliers including Larry Denton, president, Dow Automotive; David Adams, president, passenger transmissions, ZF Batavia LLC; and Richard E. Allen, CEO - automotive, Freudenberg-NOK.

Industry Preview Days are an exclusive opportunity for companies in the automotive industry to invite key contacts, suppliers and employees to preview the NAIAS before the show opens to the public.

Public Days for NAIAS 2003 are open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, through Sunday, Jan. 19. On Monday, January 20, the Show is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be no admittance one hour in advance of closing each day.
