January 2003 (Newstream) -- Do you have to drive long distances? Well, for those of us who do, there's a new technology out there to make the trip easier.

For many of us, having cruise control is a must when driving long distances. Advanced cruise control can now make those long trips even more enjoyable. The same radar technology the police have used for years to measure your speed can now be incorporated into the front of your car to measure the distance between you and the car in front of you.

Auto manufacturers stress that advanced cruise control does not drive the car for you, and it's not meant to be used in heavy traffic. But, for long trips, it's a convenience that allows you to focus more on your driving.
