January 2003 U.S. Auto Sales
February 3, 2003; The Associated Press prepared this recap of January 2003 car and light truck sales in the United States by the major automakers. Industry totals include 21 automakers. BMW of North America and Daewoo International did not report sales Monday.
The table compares sales in January 2003 with sales in January 2002. Light trucks include pickups, vans, minivans and sport utility vehicles.
Results for General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG do not include U.S. sales of their European brands: Saab, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz.
Percentages are based on the daily sales rate; there were 25 sales days last month and in January 2002.
