Chevrolet Unveils Impala SS, Monte Carlo Supercharged SS And Aveo At Chicago Auto Show

CHICAGO - Chevrolet today unveiled a trio of new cars at the Chicago Auto Show: the 2004 Impala SS, the 2004 Monte Carlo Supercharged SS, and the all-new 2004 Aveo subcompact.

The Impala SS and Monte Carlo Supercharged SS will debut this summer, joining the recently introduced Silverado SS, and Aveo will join Cavalier early in 2004 as Chevy strengthens its small-car lineup.

The Impala SS and Monte Carlo Supercharged SS are contemporary interpretations of the legendary SS formula. Both deliver a balance of enhanced power and responsive handing, with a 240-horsepower supercharged V-6 engine, sport-tuned four-wheel independent suspension, and high-performance wheels and tires.

Aveo will extend Chevrolet’s small-car lineup into the highly competitive entry-vehicle segment. The Aveo lineup includes a pair of European-designed models – a stylish four-door and sporty five-door – penned by Italdesign, one of Italy’s leading design houses. Aveo offers unique exteriors, roomy interiors with raised seats for improved comfort and visibility, and features typically found on more expensive vehicles.

Chevrolet also confirmed plans to build a next-generation Cavalier at the Lordstown, Ohio Assembly Center. In January, Chevy unveiled an all-new Malibu midsize sedan, along with the Colorado midsize pickup and the Equinox compact utility vehicle, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
