Chrysler Celebrates 10 Millionth Minivan with a Contest

    * Consumers Can Win Customized Chrysler and Dodge Minivans
    * Both One-of-a-Kind Vehicles Will Debut at the 2003 Chicago Auto Show

CHICAGO, Feb. 12 -- The Chrysler Group, in
celebration of producing its 10 millionth minivan, today announced a
sweepstakes and contest to give away two "Ultimate Minivans" -- uniquely
customized versions of the company's Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand
Caravan minivans. Both vehicles debut at the 2003 Chicago Auto Show, opening
to the public on Friday, February 14. Afterward, they are scheduled to go on
display at auto shows in Cleveland, Atlanta, Dallas and New York.
"To produce 10 million units of one vehicle model is phenomenal, even for
the company that invented the minivan," said George E. Murphy, Senior Vice
President, Global Brand Marketing, DaimlerChrysler. "To commemorate this
milestone, we created two ultimate minivans that consumers around the country
have the opportunity to win."
Among the features shared by the Chrysler and Dodge Ultimate Minivans are
a video gaming system, an in-dash GPS Navigation System, a Sirius satellite
radio, an Alpine Surround Sound Stereo with Infinity speakers and subwoofers,
BlueTooth(TM) technology and a portable hot/cold storage compartment.
More than a dozen features are unique to each minivan. For example:
The Ultimate Town & Country Vacation Edition Minivan has custom "Pearl
Diamond" paint, dual headliner-mounted video screens for DVD viewing and in-
vehicle gaming, dual sunroofs, a color-matched trailer, a cappuccino machine
and adjustable Dream Wing headrests.
The Dodge Grand Caravan ES AWD Family Fun Machine Minivan has custom
"Candy Apple" red paint with removable graphics, four headrest-mounted video
screens for DVD viewing and in-vehicle gaming, walkie talkies with a charging
unit, a juice box dispenser in a moveable/removable console, wet/dry vacuum
with a charging unit, and a Porta Potty.
Entry forms for the Chrysler sweepstakes will be available online at
http://www.travelandleisure.com\chryslersweepstakes starting February 28, and in the
April issue of Travel & Leisure magazine. The Grand Prize is the Ultimate
Town & Country Vacation Edition Minivan. Five second place winners will
receive a family vacation trip for four to one of five vacation destinations
in the U.S.
The Dodge contest is based on "Magic Minivan Moments." Entrants are asked
to write a short essay describing a special family moment, incident or
adventure involving their minivan. Ladies Home Journal will select the
winner. In addition to the Dodge Caravan ES AWD Family Fun Machine Minivan,
the winner will be profiled in Ladies Home Journal and receive a four-
day/three-night stay at the Wyndham Palace Resort in Orlando, Fla., for three
consecutive years.
The Dodge contest began February 11. Entry forms are available at
http://www.lhjpromo.com/MagicalMinivanMoments via Dodge.com. Information on how to
enter is also available in the March and April issues of Ladies Home Journal,
and the April issues of Parenting, Parents, BabyTalk, Family Fun, House and
Garden, House Beautiful, Nick Jr. and Scholastic Parent.
Individuals can also enter the Chrysler sweepstakes and the Dodge contest
at the five auto shows where the vehicles will be displayed.
The deadline for both promotions is April 30.
In 1983, the former Chrysler Corporation introduced the first "minivan."
In 1990, this was followed by the first luxury minivan with the introduction
of the Chrysler Town & Country model. Since 1983, the Chrysler Group has sold
nearly 10 million minivans worldwide, introduced 50 minivan-first features,
and earned more than 150 awards industry-wide.
