Porsche Cayenne Factory Fill - Synthetic Motor Oil

FAIRFAX, Va.--Feb. 14, 2003--ExxonMobil today announced that Mobil 1 has been selected as original equipment (factory fill) for Porsche's new line of Cayenne sports-utility vehicles -- the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo. Each new vehicle will be filled with Mobil 1 viscosity grade 0W-40.
From the initial design ExxonMobil has collaborated with Porsche on the lubricant requirements for the new Cayenne 4.5-liter, 32-valve V8 engine.
"Porsche engineers have taken the sports utility vehicle mold and delivered a range of driving capabilities and a unique driving experience known until now only from the sport car segment," says Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, CEO of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. "Since the engine is key to achieving this goal, we again relied on Mobil 1 during the development and for the initial fill."
"Porsche's entree into the SUV market has created great anticipation among the driving public," said Jerry Kohlenberger, President, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company. "We are extremely proud to have been involved in the development of the Cayenne engine from its initial stages and Porsche's selection of Mobil 1 as its oil of choice. This milestone further validates our commitment to our partnership with Porsche and to delivering maximum engine performance to all of our customers."
Mobil 1 provides a variety of performance benefits to the Cayenne. These include fuel economy, excellent oil flow characteristics and outstanding protection from -50 degrees C (-58 degrees F) to +350 degrees C (+662 degrees F). Mobil 1 0W-40 is ideally suited for high-performance super-charged and turbo-charged engines.
Porsche uses Mobil 1 as factory-fill in all its current vehicle models and it is recommended for service fill as well.
Mobil 1 is also original equipment in a number of other high-performance vehicles. ExxonMobil is the leading marketer of synthetic lubricants.
Introduced in Europe in late 2002, the Porsche Cayenne will be launched in the Americas, Asia Pacific and the Middle East in 2003.

Mobil 1 is a trademark of Exxon Mobil Corporation or one of its subsidiaries.
