Toyota Reports Mexico Sales for January

MEXICO CITY, Feb. 24 -- Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico (TMEX) reported total January sales of 462 through its six dealerships established in three major cities. Toyota sales have totaled 4,298 units since Toyota began selling cars in Mexico in April 2002.

"We are truly pleased with Toyota's January sales figures in Mexico despite the difficult financial situation that Mexican consumers usually experience during the beginning of each year," said Jose Luis Sanchez Andion, general director at Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico. "It is clear that more Mexicans every day are eager to experience the quality, dependability and reliability of our vehicles and consider them a sound investment."

The Corolla compact sedan was the January sales leader for Toyota with 313 total sales. The Camry mid-size sedan chipped in with 149 units sold.
