CINCINNATI--May 8, 2003--Automobile Consumer Services, Inc. (ACS), an innovator in online direct-to-consumer auto leasing, released a list of the top 10 most requested vehicles from its popular auto leasing website www.LeaseCompare.com for the first quarter of 2003. Honda covers the model field with a sedan, van, and SUV all ranked in the top 10 for new car leasing requests. -0-The Top 10 Most Requested Models New Car Rankings 1st Qtr 4th Qtr 2003 2002 Make & Model ---- ---- ------------ 1 2 Infiniti G35 2 1 Honda Accord 3 3 Acura MDX 4WD 4 4 BMW 330 Series 5 6 Audi A4 6 8 Mercedes Benz E Class 7 7 Honda Pilot 8 5 BMW 325 Series 9 nl(a) Honda Odyssey 10 nl(a) Volvo XC90 AWD Used Car Rankings 1st Qtr 4th Qtr 2003 2002 Make & Model ---- ---- ------------ 1 1 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 7 Chevrolet Corvette 3 8 BMW 330 Series 4 4 Mercedes Benz S Class 5 2 BMW 5 Series 6 3 Porsche Boxster 7 5 Mercedes Benz CLK Class 8 nl(a) BMW X5 Series 9 9 BMW 7 Series 10 nl(a) Mercedes Benz E Class nl(a) = cars that previously did not rank
While Honda made a strong showing in requests for new car leases, the all new Volvo XC90 makes its debut on the list this quarter. Crossover vehicles such as the Acura MDX 4WD and Honda Pilot are a popular and growing segment because they combine the benefits of a sedan and sport utility.
Used car leasing requests continue to be dominated by luxury models. Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche are steady favorites. Leasing a luxury late-model vehicle has grown in popularity as consumers in an uncertain economy try to keep monthly expenses to a minimum by leasing.
"Low financing rates will continue to be attractive to consumers and are driving the strong used car leasing market," notes Tarry Shebesta, president and owner of ACS.
LeaseCompare.com, as the name suggests, provides a tool to instantly evaluate financing options from a number of sources. Customers can lock in the lease quote they like and apply for credit online. As an independent leasing company, ACS facilitates the entire leasing process.
