Delco Remy International promotes Susan Hudson to Vice President of Global Purchasing

ANDERSON, Ind., May 8, 2003 -- Delco Remy International, Inc., announces the promotion of Susan Hudson to the position of Vice President of Global Purchasing. Hudson will report to Delco Remy International CEO and President, Thomas J. Snyder, leading the global purchasing initiatives and developing the international purchasing processes. Hudson will serve on the company's Strategy Board and will oversee all purchasing activities for Delco Remy's global operations.

"In the past two years Sue has reengineered our OE purchasing process to more closely match our manufacturing footprint. Though her leadership, the supply chain has been streamlined and our supplier relationships have been strengthened. Sue will now bring that energy and focus to purchasing throughout the company," said Snyder.

Hudson joined Delco Remy in 1998, and most recently served as the Corporate Director of Purchasing where she held overall responsibility for the department, including direct and indirect material procurement. Previously, Hudson was a Purchasing Manager for White Industries in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has held related purchasing and material positions at ABB Process Controls in Columbus, Ohio; Motorola Secure Telecommunications in Seguin, Texas; and Harris Semiconductor in Melbourne, Florida.

Hudson holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Supervision from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and has received CPIM certification from the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
