Interior Motives Student Design Awards: Celebrating the next generation of automotive interior design

London, May 29, 2003 -- Tickets for the automotive industry's latest addition to the annual design event calendar - The Interior Motives: Student Design Awards - are now on sale.

The first annual Interior Motives: Student Design Awards is taking place at the King Kamehameha Club in Frankfurt on the 10th September 2003. The world's top automotive personnel - including automaker and supplier designers, senior management, and independent industrial designers and academics - will all be in attendance to congratulate the winners of the most outstanding automotive projects created by student designers from around the globe.

The evening will begin with a cocktail and canapé hour. Then during the prize-giving ceremony Interior Motives editor Ryan Borroff will explain the judging process and the decisions made by the panel of industry design chiefs. The winners of each category will be presented with a specially designed "Interior Motives" trophy together with a check for US$2000. A further check for US$10,000 will be presented to the overall winner.

After the awards ceremony, the King Kamehameha Club will come into its own with live music and dance, giving those in attendance a great networking opportunity to meet other attendees, nominees, winners and judges.

The King Kamehameha Club is one of the oldest and best-known Jazz clubs in Germany and has a striking purpose built modern interior that matches the aesthetic aspirations of the design community.

Inside the venue, there are four different bars, each of which displays its own unique atmosphere. The ground floor pool bar offers outdoor space for relaxing and chatting around the monumental pool, the Cigar Lounge is a smaller more intimate room dedicated to the jazz history of the venue. The main lounge and dance floor areas are situated inside the old brewery building itself with a spacious and open drinks area. Upstairs there is a mezzanine floor and cocktail area offering a great view of the dance floor and stage area.

The Interior Motives: Student Design Awards are sponsored by Intier Automotive, Alcantara, Alias/Wavefront, Hewlett Packard, Huntsman Polyurethanes, JSP International and Seton Company.
