UQM Technologies Delivers Concept Hybrid Electric Gator(TM) Utility Vehicle Developed for Deere & Company

Concept Hybrid Electric Gator Latest Addition to Products Under Evaluation by Deere & Company Incorporating UQM(R) Motors and Generators

FREDERICK, Colo., June 10 -- UQM TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (AMEX:UQM) , a developer of alternative energy technologies, announced today that it has delivered to Deere & Company a concept Gator(TM) Utility Vehicle powered by a hybrid electric propulsion system consisting of four UQM(R) wheel mounted propulsion motors and a UQM(R) generator together with the electronics that control its functionality. The propulsion motors are a higher power variant of wheel motors currently in volume production by the Company.

Deere & Company's electrification initiative was recently showcased on CNBC's "Squawk Box" television show, which tracks emerging trends in business and the financial markets, delving into cutting-edge products and technologies. In the broadcast segment two John Deere products, a hybrid electric 7000 series farm tractor and a hybrid electric 300 series lawn and garden tractor incorporating UQM(R) power systems, demonstrated the numerous benefits of hybrid electric technology to vehicle end users.

Critical to the enhanced capabilities of the hybrid electric Gator(TM) and the previously featured John Deere products -- high performance, reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions -- is their use of UQM(R) hybrid electric systems consisting of proprietary, power dense and highly energy efficient propulsion motors, generators and power electronic motor controllers that intelligently manage their operation.

Bernie Poore, Manager of Deere's Product Technology Department said, "This hybrid electric Gator(TM) Utility Vehicle is the latest of several concept development vehicles we have commissioned as part of our electrification investigations. We believe electrification will enable our products to achieve significantly reduced emissions and noise levels with improved efficiency and sustained high performance. UQM Technologies has been a critical partner in this endeavor, both as vehicle integration experts and a provider of advanced propulsion system technologies."

John Deere has a strong heritage of innovation in its high quality products and electrification will enable Deere to offer added functionality to products. Benefits include significant efficiency gains, improved performance through integrated power management, flexible vehicle architecture, lower emissions, simplified manufacturing and service and other new customer features.

William G. Rankin, President and Chief Executive Officer of UQM Technologies said, "We are pleased that Deere & Company continues to incorporate our proprietary technology in their hybrid electric product development programs. We believe that electric propulsion can benefit a wide range of vehicle platforms, as evidenced by Deere's electrification initiative, and that vehicles powered by UQM(R) drives deliver the optimum in vehicle performance and efficiency. We are looking forward to continuing our work with Deere to contribute to the realization of their vision of electrifying their product line."
