Nissan Announces Pricing on Two New 2004 Models -- Quest Minivan and 350Z Roadster

GARDENA, Calif.--June 25, 2003--Nissan North America, Inc. today announced pricing on two exciting new 2004 vehicles -- the dramatically styled Nissan Quest minivan and a new convertible version of the highly popular 350Z sports car, the 350Z Roadster. Both vehicles are slated to go on sale this summer.
The all-new Quest, which began production at Nissan's new $1.4 billion assembly plant in Canton, Miss., on May 27, features a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $24,590 for the roomy Quest 3.5 S equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission and Seat Package.
Other available Quest models include the Quest 3.5 SL with an MSRP of $27,090 with Seat Package and the Quest 3.5 SE with standard 5-speed automatic transmission and Seat Package at an MSRP of $32,990. Nearly 75 percent of Quest sales are expected to be in models priced under $30,000 MSRP.
The 2004 350Z Roadster joins the 350Z Coupe, which was introduced last August and has quickly become the best-selling sports car in the United States. The Z(R) Roadster offers sports car lovers the Z(R) Coupe's high performance excitement and dynamic driving experience, but with a power-operated soft top. Operation of the top, which incorporates a glass rear window and defroster, is designed to take 20 seconds start to finish.
The 2004 Z(R) Roadster will be available in two models: the 350Z Roadster Enthusiast Model with MSRPs of $33,850 and $34,820 for manual and automatic transmissions, respectively, and the 350Z Roadster Touring Model at MSRPs of $36,220 and $37,190 for manual and automatic transmissions, respectively.
In addition, despite strong consumer demand for the 350Z Coupe, 2004 pricing will not increase from the latest 2003 model year pricing.

    2004 Nissan Quest

The new Quest offers a standard 240-horsepower DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, a bold and expressive look, the longest wheelbase and widest sliding doors in the segment, available fold-away 2nd and flat-folding 3rd row seating and an extensive list of available safety features including standard head curtain air bags to help protect 1st, 2nd and 3rd row outboard occupants from side-impact collisions. It has a total of 44 cubic feet more interior room than the previous generation Quest.
The new Quest is built on Nissan's proven FF-L platform, which is also found on the Altima, the all-new Murano crossover SUV and the all-new flagship 2004 Maxima premium performance sedan. The Quest's VQ series V6 has been recognized as one of the "Ten Best Engines" by Ward's Auto World magazine for nine consecutive years. The new Quest also comes equipped with a standard Traction Control System (TCS), 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-wheel vented disc brakes with ABS, 16-inch wheels and tires (17-inch standard on Quest 3.5 SE model), and available Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).
The list of other key available features and equipment includes an innovative Skyview(TM) roof glass panel system for 2nd and 3rd row seats, a DVD Entertainment System with one or two roof-mounted display screens, a full-length rear overhead console with storage bins, personal lamps and air vents, and the first-ever Bose(R)-developed audio system for the U.S. minivan segment.
"The new Quest is designed to challenge minivan convention with breakthrough styling, breakthrough versatility and breakthrough performance," said Bill Kirrane, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division.
"Our goal was nothing short of creating a product revolution. We wanted to create a product distinctive enough to share the showroom with other new Nissan vehicles. Quest delivers on every measure, including value for the money with its unmatched combination of the newest technology, smart functionality and ample space."

    350Z Roadster

The arrival of the Z(R) Roadster, with limited initial deliveries beginning in July, is expected to accelerate the excitement surrounding the new Z(R) Coupe, which has sold over 30,000 units since launch and now represents over 25% of the sports car segment. Unlike many other convertibles in class, the Z(R) Roadster's top stows compactly under a lightweight tonneau cover, completely hiding the top when down. The top design also includes a convenient three-lock, single latch system that provides a more secure seal while also making the closing process easier.
"The Z(R) has changed the face of sports cars with its unique combination of high performance and high value," said Kirrane. "The addition of the Z(R) Roadster literally opens up the Z(R) experience to a whole new group of sports car enthusiasts who prefer the wind in their face and the sun on their backs."
During the design phase of the Z(R) Roadster, engineers devoted countless hours focusing on enhancing the vehicle's structural integrity and minimizing top-down interior noise and turbulence. A key component in the design is the utilization of a tempered glass wind deflector located between the seats that directs wind out and over the cabin.
Structural reinforcements incorporated in the Z(R) Roadster's FM (Front Mid-ship) platform include a center floor V-shaped crossbar and A-shaped front end crossbar.
Both Z(R) Roadster models are powered by the Z(R) Coupe's 287-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and both a 6-speed close-ratio manual and 5-speed automatic transmission are available. The suspension is a 4-wheel independent design.
The 350Z Roadster Enthusiast model features standard power seats, power-operated soft top, rear wind deflector, 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, automatic climate control, a choice of 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission and more.
The 350Z Roadster Touring Model adds a Bose(R) audio system with 6-disc CD changer and seven speakers, leather-appointed seats (optional ventilated net seat design) with heater and heated mirrors, and side-impact supplemental air bags.
Six-spoke 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are offered on both models, while side-impact supplemental air bags are optionally available on the Enthusiast model and a DVD-based navigation system is available on the Touring Model.
