Smartnav now available on all Mazda models

Bedfordshire, September 3 -- Mazda Motors UK Limited is now offering Smartnav, the latest in satellite navigation from Trafficmaster, as an approved accessory on all of its models in the UK.

Mazda drivers will have access to all of Smartnav's services that include navigation, up-to-the minute traffic information with route re-calculation, 24-hour emergency & breakdown support, Stolen Vehicle Location (a vehicle tracking service) and Safe Speed (a safety camera alert system).

Mazda chose Smartnav because it reflects Mazda's approach to provide advanced technology, creativity, performance and safety. Furthermore, it complements Mazda's own accolades within the motoring industry. Smartnav is operated through one simple button on the dashboard and compliments Mazda's sophisticated modular audio system. Routes are calculated using the very latest mapping and Trafficmaster's extensive database of live, historic, forecast and incident based traffic information, providing the optimum route for each journey. Should a problem occur whilst you are en route, Smartnav will automatically calculate a quicker alternative route if one is available.

Mazda anticipates that it will sell over 38,000 vehicles across the UK in 2003, and will offer Smartnav on all new cars sales. It also envisages that with the launch of the new RX8 in October this year, sales will increase and provide more opportunities for Smartnav.

Smartnav will be available through the 130 Mazda dealers located across the UK and can be purchased for £624.95 including VAT and installation. An annual subscription providing navigation for one year is an additional £120 and for four years, £350.
