Honda Motor Co. Sees 17.35 Million Product Sales For Calendar Year

TORRANCE, Calif September 24, 2003; Dow Jones reported that American Honda Motor Co. said it is on track to sell 1.35 million vehicles in 2003, which would mark the eighth consecutive year of "record" sales.

In a press release Wednesday, the U.S. automaker said its parent, Honda Motor Co. , is targeting global sales of 17.35 million automobiles, motorcycles and power equipment products this year.

Honda now has the capacity to build more than 1.22 million vehicles annually in North America and receives more than 75% of its U.S. products from North American plants.

The company, which controls 9% of the U.S. car market, posted August sales growth of 7.3% for its cars and trucks.
