DETROIT, Oct. 7, 2003 -- James Bond would be envious. It took him 40 years and 20 movies to drive many of the world's best and sexiest head- turning vehicles. At the Night of Excellence, a Children's Hospital of Michigan fundraiser that is being held Monday evening, October 13 at Western Golf and Country Club, the high bidder in their live auction will get to turn- heads much quicker -- during the summer of 2004 -- by using 8 of the auto industry's hottest vehicles. "For our 15th annual Night of Excellence we wanted to really emphasize EXCELLENCE. And there's not a better way to make that point than to offer up 8 of the auto industry's most EXCELLENT vehicles," said John Ginopolis, Chairman of the Night of Excellence Committee. "We're providing a FANTASY FLEET -- one week use of each of 8 vehicles including a Lexus SC430, Nissan 350Z, Mazda RX8, Chrysler Crossfire, BMW Z4, Honda S2000, Jaguar XJR and Audi TT -- to the person who bids the highest during our live auction segment. As far as we know, something like this has NEVER been done before so it should be pretty exciting. We expect the evening to generate over $100,000 for Hematology/Oncology care for kids at Children's Hospital."

Started 15 years ago as the Taste of Excellence by a handful of Children's Hospital and Detroit area businessmen, the event has been transformed from an evening of great food, refreshments and cigars to a Night of Excellence. The emphasis is now focused on a special guest speaker who is EXCELLENT in his or her field. Past speakers have included Ernie Harwell and Tom Izzo. This year Chuck Daly, the coach of the Champion Detroit Pistons teams and coach of the Olympic Dream Team, will share some of his favorite stories. Associate Red Wings Coach, Barry Smith, will also be on hand to provide his outlook on the upcoming season.

Tickets for the Night of Excellence are $175 and there are less than 30 tickets remaining.
