Thousands Join Chrysler Group in Celebrating Minivan's 20th Anniversary

Garden City Resident Wins 2004 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan At Walter P. Chrysler Museum Extravaganza

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 15 -- More than 1,200 people helped Chrysler Group mark the 20th anniversary of the "Magic Wagon" -- the very first minivan -- at a Minivan-iversary Celebration, held Saturday, November 15 at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Mich.

One lucky guest, Jim Hunt of Garden City, Mich., had an even greater reason to celebrate as he won a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan.

Hunt, 49, was one of 50 finalists who were given keys, one of which opened the vehicle door. He is a recently unemployed computer software professional who won the chance to vie for the new minivan by listening to Magic 105.1 FM.

The Minivan-iversary Celebration also featured family activities, sports clinics, contests and prizes.

Chrysler created a whole new market segment when it invented the minivan in 1983. The vehicle is the most innovative and successful vehicle ever developed and built by Chrysler to date.

More than 10 million Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth minivans have been sold in 72 countries since 1983. After two decades and countless competitive models, Chrysler and Dodge minivans remain the world's best-selling minivans.
