Pomona California Event: 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible To Benefit the Surfrider Foundation

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., and AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 25, 2003 -- Chrysler Financial, a DaimlerChrysler Services business unit, awarded one lucky participant an all-new 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible. The event took place during the second annual PT Block Party, Saturday, November 22 at the Los Angeles Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.

Merv J. Brown of Camarillo, Calif. won the grand prize, a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible, compliments of Chrysler Financial. Brown will be able to pick out his new product options to his specifications at his local Chrysler dealership in early 2004.

Participants purchased raffle tickets for the chance to win the convertible. Through the sale of the tickets, and donations by Chrysler Financial and the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund, $20,000 was presented to the Surfrider Foundation's Executive Director -- Christopher J. Evans Esq. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary California surfers, the Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots environmental organization dedicated to and passionate about the protection and preservation of our oceans, waves and beaches.

"Chrysler Financial is proud to support such a great environmental cause that is devoted to the protection of one of our greatest natural resources -- our coastal environments," said Dietmar Exler, Vice President -- Chrysler Brands Marketing for DaimlerChrysler Services.

The PT Block Party is a one-day event for loyal and enthusiastic PT Cruiser customers. The 50's style event was hosted by the Chrysler Group and focused on activities including the Mopar Speed Shop, PT Turbo Drag Strip, PT Cruiser customization contest, Cruiser Kids Land, driving course and Chrysler Gift gallery.

"The PT Cruiser appeals to a broad range of customers visiting Chrysler dealerships and we offer financing options as unique as those Cruiser customers who style them," added Exler.

The day ended with outdoor musical performances by Little Anthony and the Imperials, Rare Earth, Three Dog Night, The Association, and Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels and a fireworks finale. More than 7,500 participants attended, including 2,550 PT Cruiser vehicles from clubs across the country.

The 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible will be available in Chrysler dealership showrooms early in 2004.
