Chrysler Group's Performance Vehicle Operations Kicks Out the Jams With an All New Dodge SRT-4 Audio System

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 11, 2003 -- Kicking up the volume when their favorite tune comes on is now an option for Dodge SRT-4 owners. An all new Kicker(R)/SRT Livin' Loud audio system upgrade is available on 2004 model-year Dodge SRT-4 cars.

"While our performance-tuned exhaust system is quickly becoming the 'signature sound' of Dodge SRT-4 out on the street, we want to offer our audiophile customers a factory-backed package, just in case they want to tune into something other than the sound of sheer engine performance," said Dan Knott, Director-Performance Vehicle Operations.

Performance Vehicle Operations engineers worked with their supplier partners at Kicker to develop the audio system upgrade that includes: two one- inch high-performance Neodymium tweeters mounted in the instrument panel, two 6.5-inch full-range 75-watt speakers mounted in the front doors, two rear 90- watt 6x9 coaxials, a six-disc under-dash CD changer and a ten-inch SVC 100- watt amplified subwoofer mounted in the trunk. The subwoofer is tied to the front-channel balance control for the most listening flexibility.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Kicker/SRT Livin' Loud audio system option is $795. The system is available on 2004 Dodge SRT-4 cars sold at SRT-certified Dodge dealerships in the United States and Canada.

"We recognize that many tuners opt to install their own audio systems, but we wanted to offer others an outrageous, kicked-up system that's covered under the car's full warranty," said Knott.

  System performance ratings are as follow:
  *  Tweeters:  4.5 kHz - 21 kHz
  *  Front-door speakers:  35 Hz - 5 kHz
  *  Rear coaxials:  30 Hz - 21 kHz
  *  Subwoofer:  20 Hz - 100 Hz

The standard Dodge SRT-4 audio system includes a six-speaker AM/FM stereo with single CD player and changer controls.

The Dodge SRT-4 and all Dodge Neon cars are built at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Ill. Through November, 2003, more than 4,400 Dodge SRT-4 cars have been sold since the vehicle's introduction in January, 2003.
