ZAP Rolls Out New Electric Cars in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 28, 2004 -- Electric car pioneer ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) announced today that its Las Vegas dealership has taken the first delivery of its newest ZAP Car. The Northern California company is betting electric car sales and rentals in Las Vegas will attract auto dealers and consumers from around the world.

A truckload of seven ZAP Intimidator L.U.V.'s(TM), an Italian-designed neighborhood electric car, arrived at ZAP's Las Vegas auto dealership on Tuesday. ZAP of Las Vegas operates rental outlets, one of them on the Las Vegas strip where millions are estimated to pass by per year. The sleek new, 2-seat electric cars come by way of a firm that designs some of Italy's finest sports cars. To view the cars, visit http://www.zapworld.com/news.htm.

ZAP is making auto dealer distribution a focus for 2004, working to attract the thousands of dealers that attend industry events in Las Vegas annually. More than 35 million people visit per year, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. ZAP has been working to build a nationwide distribution network for cleaner car technologies. The Northern California Company is building alliances with vehicle manufacturers and automotive service providers to support its dealers with more products and services. Recently, ZAP announced consumer financing as well as a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty for its electric cars, a new industry standard.

"At ZAP, we believe there is not only the opportunity to introduce electric transportation on a large scale, we believe it is our responsibility to start leading the auto industry towards energy and environmental conservation," said ZAP CEO Steve Schneider. "Studies show that consumers want cleaner car technologies, and we know there are dealers that want to pursue this opportunity."

Schneider cited a recent study from the Green Car Institute that showed drivers preferred electric cars over gas for 90 percent of their trips.
