U.S. Transportation Secretary Mineta to Push For Primary Safety Belt Law

Tomorrow, March 4, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. EST, U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta will host a news conference with a bipartisan group of state House and Senate lawmakers on the front steps of the old State Capitol in Tallahassee to push for enactment of a primary safety belt law.

The Secretary will urge the state Legislature to join the 20 other states that have passed primary safety belt laws, and help reduce the number of Floridians killed each year because they weren't wearing safety belts.
