AAA Adds More Tips and Maps to New Guidebook Editions

ORLANDO, Fla.--March 9, 2004--Eight newly revamped editions of the popular Essential series of travel guidebooks have been released with expanded content, a larger map section and a new design.

"We've added a whole Atlas section to each book with vicinity and street-level cartography," said Nancy Jones, international guidebook product manager, AAA Publishing. "The mapping is indexed for a very user-friendly guidebook."

The eight updated editions include Australia, Dominican Republic, England, London, New Zealand, Rome, Scotland, and Tuscany and Florence. More editions in the updated format are planned for seasonal roll-out.

In addition to tips on currency, documents, airports and customs, the new editions have added an extended language section. In addition to the new Atlas section, there are maps on fold out panels of the front and back covers.

As the name implies, the guidebooks provide valuable insight on how to enjoy each destination's culture by seeing and visiting the "essentials." Each guide makes travel easy for a first-time visitor with local expert advice on where to eat, where to stay and great shopping tips. A new travel diary section provides space for travelers to reflect on their journey.

The Essential guides are available at AAA club offices, online at aaa.com/barnesandnoble and at bookstores, and retail for $10.95 US/ $17.50 CDN.
