Jaguar Shows Marked Improvement in Latest J.D. Power and Associates Study

IRVINE, Calif., April 28 -- Jaguar shows significant improvement in the latest J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study released today. Jaguar rose from tenth in 2003 to rank third overall, an increase of 20% on the previous year's performance, becoming the highest ranked European nameplate, significantly ahead of the nearest rival.

Jaguar's best performing model was the XJ sedan. The Jaguar S-TYPE and X- TYPE improved their performance by 28% and 13% respectively. Jaguar's Browns Lane plant, where the new XJ sedan is built, received a bronze award for European plant performance.

"The significant progress we have made is a testament to our commitment to continuously enhance our quality," said Mike O'Driscoll, president of Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover North America. "The performance of our XJ model and the Browns Lane plant where it is manufactured, are largely responsible for our improved ranking."

The new XJ sedan went on sale late last spring and is the most advanced Jaguar ever produced. Technology such as lightweight aluminum and enhanced engine performance mean that Jaguar is able to appeal to a wider premium customer base than ever before. At the recent New York International Auto Show Jaguar announced a long wheelbase version of the car to extend its appeal to premium car buyers.
