Cellular One Premiers Great American Driving Test; Video Released to Promote Wireless Safety Week

OKLAHOMA CITY--May 24, 2004--Cellular One from Dobson Cellular Systems celebrates this month's Wireless Safety Week with the premier of a video encouraging teens to drive safe.

The Cellular One Great American Driving Test is a 12-minute interactive quiz narrated by NASCAR driver Joe Nemechek. Participants follow along with Nemechek, who drives the #87 Cellular One Chevy in the Busch NASCAR series, on a specially designed score card.

The video is being sent to high schools across the company's 16-state service area free of charge, according to public relations manager Craig Davis. More than 50 schools have requested the video so far, he said.

"Cellular One takes pride in giving back to the communities we serve," Davis said. "Each year there are too many needless accidents during prom and graduation season and if this video can prevent one accident, we feel like it is a success."

In addition to the driving quiz, Nemechek offers tips for the safe use of a wireless telephone in a vehicle.

"It is always best to pull to the side of the road to make or receive calls on your wireless telephone," Davis said. "We always remind people they should not be distracted from the road whether it's by a telephone or the radio or a child in the backseat."

Filmed on location in North Carolina and South Carolina earlier this year, schools are using the video during driver's education classes and assemblies, he said.

Wireless Safety Week, which runs May 24, 2004-28, is sponsored in part by the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association as an annual event to promote the safe use of wireless telephones.
