5,000 Spectators Expected at Annual Bellflower Boulevard Car Show; Hundreds of Custom and Classic Cars, Trucks & Harleys on Display
--Saturday June 5, 4-9 p.m. in Historic Downtown Bellflower The City of Bellflower presents the annual Bellflower Boulevard Car Show featuring 400 classic rods, custom relics and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Free and open to the public, the annual car show draws entrants from throughout Southern California, along with an anticipated crowd of more than 5,000. WHAT: Annual Bellflower Boulevard Car Show WHEN: Saturday, June 5 4-9 p.m. WHERE: Historic Downtown Bellflower (off the Artesia 91 Freeway at Bellflower Boulevard, or exit Alondra Boulevard from the San Gabriel River 605 Freeway) FEATURES: Live music by Orange Colored Sky and Ronny & the Classics 35 vendor booths, three DJs, post-event dance, games for kids ADMISSION: Free to the public $10 to enter a vehicle in the show (Fee includes vehicle entry, custom dash plaque & raffle ticket) JUDGING CATEGORIES: Best of Show Commission Choice Best Paint Best Interior Best Engine Best Pin-stripe Best Chevrolet Best Ford Best Pontiac Best '50s Best '60s Best '70s SHOW NOTES: Vehicles are staged on Bellflower Boulevard at 2:30 p.m. Autos assemble in the staging area on Pacific Avenue between Bellflower Boulevard and Alondra Boulevard. Judging takes place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Awards are presented to each respective winner at their vehicle by City Council members at 6:30 p.m. A post-event dance will be held at the Town Center Plaza from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Live music by Ronny & the Classics will feature oldies-era tunes. Free admission. Lawn chairs welcome. Hot dogs & soft drinks for sale. No alcohol permitted at the car show or post-event dance.
