Mitsubishi Motors Reports May 2004 U.S. Sales

CYPRESS, Calif., June 2 -- Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today reported May 20, 200404 U.S. sales of 16,371 units. May's total was up slightly compared to April 2004 and was led by improving sales of Mitsubishi's highest volume vehicles.

Sales of Mitsubishi Galant were up 16 percent, Mitsubishi Endeavor up 4 percent and Mitsubishi Lancer up 6 percent compared to last May, based on a daily selling rate (DSR). Mitsubishi Motors has sold 89,501 units year to date in the United States.

On June 1, Mitsubishi announced the launch of a new "See What Happens" television ad featuring the all-new 2004 Mitsubishi Galant. The ad, based on real vehicle testing results conducted by AMCI, highlights the Galant GTS's superior braking ability compared to the Honda Accord EX V6. The cliffhanger spot is the second in the "See What Happens" series designed to dramatically highlight Mitsubishi's product features against their competitors.
