Chrysler Used-Car Sales Up 19 Percent in May, Led by Increase in Sales of Dodge Brand Cars and Trucks

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. June 8, 2004; The AP reported that Chrysler Group reported a 19-percent rise in May used-car sales to 8,466 vehicles, led by a 25-percent increase in unit sales of Dodge brand cars and trucks.

Chrysler, a division of DaimlerChrysler AG, sold 4,239 pre-owned Dodge vehicles, with sales of Dodge Ram pick-ups up 65 percent to 903 units.

Sales of Chrysler brand vehicles rose 40 percent to 2,402 units during the month, while Jeep sales fell 8 percent to 1,825 units.

Year-to-date sales increased 13 percent to 42,338 vehicles, the company said.
