Roadway Express Sends Record-Breaking 41 Professional Drivers to National Truck Driving Championships
AKRON, Ohio--July 29, 2004--Roadway Express, Inc. proudly announces that 41 of its best professional drivers are on their way to compete at the 67th National Truck Driving Championships August 18-21, 2004, to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. The American Trucking Associations sponsors the event, sometimes referred to as the "Super Bowl of Safety.""We all congratulate these state champions, who exemplify the tremendous commitment, pride and professionalism essential to make our highways as safe as possible while serving our customers. We have surpassed our record with these 41 supreme competitors. They are truly leaders of our industry. The opportunity to attend the national competition is one of the highest honors a driver can receive during his or her career. Each competitor will demonstrate his or her driving skills and knowledge of the trucking industry. Both the state and national competitions include difficult driving skills and maneuvering test, pre-trip inspections and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations.
