Cruisin' For Wishes: GM Lansing Parts Warehouse, UAW Team Up To Support Make-A-Wish FoundationŽ

LANSING, MICH. - For the fifth consecutive year, GM's Lansing Parts Warehouse and UAW Local 1753 are teaming up to host Cruisin' for Wishes, a car, motorcycle, and tractor show to benefit the Make-A-Wish FoundationŽ of Michigan. The event is open to the public; see the end of this release for more information.

Organized by UAW-GM Local 1753 employees, Cruisin' for Wishes raises money for charity through the raffle and auction of over 200 door prizes which this year include a Holland America Lines cruise, an Electric Citybug Scooter, and a BoseŽ WaveŽ radio. Since the event was organized in 2000, Cruisin' for Wishes has raised over $45,000 to help grant numerous wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

"This event is our opportunity to give back to the Lansing community and to support a very worthy organization," said UAW Local 1753 event co-chair Michael Beard. "It is our sincerest hope that you will be able to come and enjoy the show and help us surpass last year's gift of over $13,000."

In addition to showcasing classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, and tractors, Cruisin' for Wishes offers numerous events and activities for the entire family. Included in the day's festivities are food, entertainment, a karaoke contest, a bake sale, and the opportunity to get a picture taken with the 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons and 2003 WNBA Champion Detroit Shock trophies.

Admission is free for spectators. There is a $5 entry fee for vehicle owners with the first 100 registrants each receiving a goodie bag.
