John Thawley Announces Two Additional Sports Car Racing Photo Books

Detroit December 14, 2004; Motorsports photographer, John Thawley, announced today the
release of a two additional photo books in a series reviewing the 2004
road-racing season: 2004 American LeMans Series and 2004 Corvette
Racing C5R ~ PERFECT.

Each book is hardbound, 9”x11” in size with 52 pages and more than 100
full color images. Both books retail for $69.95 and can be ordered
online at www.johnthawley.com.

The two new books focus on the series that received RACER magazine
reader’s highest marks when asked “What type of racing do you like?”
The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. The 2004 season saw records
set by several prominent drivers and teams and a first-time
championship for one of the most successful drivers in series history.

The American LeMans photo book contains great action packed images of
Audi RS8, Lola, Courage, Porsche, Corvette, Panoz, Ferrari, Lamborghini
all battling it out on the finest road courses in North America.

The Corvette Racing C5R ~ PERFECT reviews the Corvette team’s perfect
season in its last campaign of the American LeMans Series. The team won
nine out of nine races as it drove into retirement making way for the
new C6R. Driver Johnny O’Connell called the C5R “one of the most
important racecars of all time.”

“I think people will really enjoy these new books,” stated Thawley.
“I’ve always enjoyed photographing the cars and longer formats of the
American LeMans Series events. The late day light and wear and tear on
the cars is a feast for the eyes.”

“The Corvette C5R story is a natural,” continued Thawley. “It was an
amazing end to the C5R legacy… to win nine of nine races heading into
retirement is like a Hollywood script. America loves this car and the
story is a natural.”

Earlier this month, Thawley released the SCCA Pro Racing’s 2004 SPEED
World Challenge Series Yearbook featuring each of the 10 top finishing
teams in the drivers’ championship in both the GT and Touring Car
Series, and three individual team books featuring the teams of Champion
Audi, Turner Motorsport and Cadillac Racing.

The 2004 SPEED World Challenge yearbook is hardbound, 9”x11” in size
with 52 pages and more than 100 full color images. It retails for
$69.95. The individual team books are hardbound, 9”x11” in size with 30
pages and 45 full color images and retail for $49.95. The books can be
ordered online at www.johnthawley.com.

In addition, teams, fans and readers will be able to order individual
prints from the books in sizes from 8x10 to 20x30, also available
online.
