Toyota devises safer auto body via crash tests at highest speeds

NAGOYA December 23, 2004; Japan Today reported that Toyota Motor Corp said Wednesday it has developed an automobile body with higher safety through all-directional collision tests conducted at the highest-ever speeds in the world.

The collision tests were conducted at 55 kilometers per hour, 5 km faster than before, resulting in an increase of 20% in the amount of energy inflicted on vehicles, Toyota said. (Kyodo News)
