Truck Set to Make Debut During Super Bowl- "And No Budget To Reach You Via Interactive...What Bull!!!"

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 4, 2005 -- Honda is debuting its all-new Ridgeline truck to national television audiences on Sunday, February 6, during the Super Bowl broadcast when two 30-second spots will run. Honda is using the Super Bowl to generate mass awareness for its first entry into the mid- size truck market.

The first spot entitled "Peaks" appears at the end of the first quarter, and the second one, "Buckles," appears at the end of the third quarter. Both Ridgeline commercials were shot in mid-January on the Big Island of Hawaii with actor Clancy Brown from the hit HBO series "Carnivale" performing the voice-over in his first work for Honda.

"Peaks" introduces the Honda Ridgeline and establishes its tough truck credentials by putting the all-new four-wheel drive truck through its paces over rugged terrain and large-scale peaks. The spot culminates on top of a ridge as the voiceover announces, "Above All, It's a Honda." Special effects company "The Orphanage," also known for its work on the blockbuster movie "The Day After Tomorrow," enhanced the dramatic scenery in the opening sequence.

"Buckles" also builds on the Ridgeline's tough truck credentials while demonstrating the vehicle's unique innovations that include an industry first In-Bed Trunk(TM) and integrated truck frame. The truck ends up on a ridge as the final line, "Above all, it's a Honda," is delivered.

Additional features of the Ridgeline include a 255-horsepower V-6 engine, a half-ton bed payload capacity, a dual action tailgate that swings down or to the side, a four-wheel independent suspension and a 5,000 lb. towing capacity. The four-door truck offers interior space similar to a full-size truck in a garage-friendly mid-size exterior package along with top-class fuel economy and ultra-low emissions. Extensive safety features include a full array of airbags including side curtain airbags as standard equipment, vehicle stability assist, a vehicle-to-vehicle compatibility design and a pedestrian safety design.
