Toronto Car Show: Largest Ice Maze to be Built in Downtown Toronto

Pontiac Ice Maze to Incorporate 2,000 Giant Ice Blocks, Cover 9,000 Square Feet

TORONTO, Feb. 8, 2005; Over the next ten days, North America's largest ever crystal clear ice maze will take shape in downtown Toronto - and the shape brings a smile to the face of drivers everywhere.

After almost 1,000 person hours of construction is completed, the icy twists and turns of the Pontiac Ice Maze will resemble the famous Pontiac dart logo, covering over 9,000 square feet, using almost 2,000 giant blocks of ice and weighing in at more than 500,000 pounds. The maze will be located in Roundhouse Park, just steps from the Canadian International AutoShow.

"Pontiac is taking its presence at the 2005 Canadian International AutoShow to new heights with four exciting new vehicles and one a-mazing experience," said Marc Comeau, Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service, General Motors of Canada. "Pontiac has always meant excitement for drivers, and the Pontiac Ice Maze brings that sense of excitement and wonder to life."

Pontiac Ice Maze visitors will be challenged to navigate their way through the 9,000 square feet of icy paths, wherein they'll find hidden images of Pontiac vehicles. Visitors can also enter for a chance to win four consecutive one year leases with each of Pontiac's four new vehicles, including the Pontiac G6, Pontiac Pursuit, Pontiac Montana SV6 and Pontiac Wave. Ballots can be dropped off at the Pontiac Ice Maze, or by visiting Pontiac's booth in the Skydome at the 2005 Canadian International AutoShow.

Pontiac will make a donation to the Children's Inner City Overnight Camp on Toronto Island on behalf of every participant who visits the Pontiac Ice Maze. The program is designed to give inner city children a two day and one night true "camping experience", complete with nature exploration, astronomy, canoeing, environmental stewardship and lots of fun, unique outdoor island adventures.

The Pontiac Ice Maze is designed and being built by Canadian-based IceCulture Inc., a world leader and innovator in ice sculpting, and will be open daily 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. between February 18th and February 27th. Admission is free, and the attraction features a special children's play area. The Ice Maze is located in Roundhouse Park, just South of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
