Tokyo Februry 8, 2005; JCNN - Toyota Motor has launched sales of its fully redesigned second-generation Vitz compact car through the Netz Toyota dealers nationwide. In addition to its exterior sporty design based on the Powerful Simplicity concept, the new Vitz boasts roomy interior characterized by a class-leading legroom of 880mm between the front and the rear seats, along with large luggage capacity for enhanced utility.

The new model achieves both superior driving performance and fuel economy with its 1.0/1.3/1.5-litter engines with VVT-I (Variable Valve Timing-Intelligent), as well as comfortable and smooth driving feel using Super CVT-I (Continuously Variable Transmission-Intelligent), and newly designed suspension and brake systems.

The eco-friendly car implements Toyota's comprehensive environmental assessment system, Eco-VAS, resulting in emission levels 75% lower than the standard set by the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport.

Toyota is aiming for monthly sales of 10,000 units.
