New TomTom GO 300 and 700 Offers Hands-free Functionality, Improved Map Coverage, and Real-Time Traffic and Weather Information
NEW ORLEANS--March 14, 2005--TomTom, a leading navigation solutions provider, today announces two new additions to the award-winning line of TomTom GO all-in-one navigation devices.The new products include the TomTom GO 700 and TomTom GO 300. TomTom GO 700
The TomTom GO 700 is TomTom's top of the line, all-in-one navigation device. It was developed for the most demanding consumers who want the fullest navigation experience.
TomTom GO 700 is equipped with voice communication capabilities that enable it to be used as a hands-free kit for Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones. By connecting to the driver's phone via Bluetooth wireless technology, the driver can safely and comfortably take and make calls while navigating from A to B.
The hands-free functionality works so easily that your phone can even be in your bag or pocket. Simply tap the GO screen to accept or make a call and talk through the GO while you drive. The TomTom GO 700 routes calls automatically from your mobile phone through the integrated speaker and microphone with professional sound quality, while the screen continues to show you where to go. You can even access your mobile phone's contact list through the GO.
The unique integration of the GO and your phone is seamless and users will benefit from the bigger screen and clearer UI (User Interface) than is found on mobile phones and other hands-free kits. With this feature, there is no need to fit costly phone specific hands-free kits that are time consuming and expensive to install and that need to be re-installed when either the car or the phone is exchanged.
The TomTom GO 700 has a high capacity internal hard disk that comes pre-installed with detailed street level maps for the United States and Canada. As a result, driving coast-to-coast and across borders is now completely seamless. The TomTom GO 700 will guide you on your way with turn-by-turn spoken and on screen instructions in multiple voices and over 30 languages.
Moreover, the built-in Bluetooth receiver that enables hands-free calling also allows users the opportunity to access TomTom PLUS services (real-time weather and traffic information, downloadable voices, and more; details below.)
TomTom GO 300
Completing the new GO offering is the TomTom GO 300. TomTom GO 300 features all the great navigation of the award-winning TomTom GO at an accessible price.
The GO 300 comes with a 1 GB removable SD card with a map of the entire continental U.S. preloaded. Maps of Canada, Hawaii, Alaska and U.S. territories are included on CD.
And of course, the GO 300 is also ready for TomTom PLUS services with its built-in Bluetooth receiver.
Go Further with TomTom PLUS
TomTom PLUS offers customers additional services that provide real-time information on traffic congestion, weather conditions and extra downloads, such as detailed city maps, additional voices, points of interest and much more. TomTom PLUS offers users a new level of customization not available with other navigation devices on the market today.
