Chrysler Group Reports Record March 2005 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) Sales

- March Sales Establish New Monthly Record - First Quarter Sales Set New Record - Second Consecutive Quarter of Record Sales

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 14 -- Chrysler Group reported that its Five-Star dealers sold 10,551 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV) during March 2005, an increase of 5 percent over March 2004 sales of 10,060 units and a record monthly sales total.

First quarter CPOV sales were 27,806 units, improving 11 percent over first quarter sales in 2004 and establishing a new quarterly sales record. First quarter sales results also mark the second consecutive quarter of record year-over-year sales growth for Chrysler Group CPOV vehicles.

"Our March and first quarter results are confirmation that customers are responding our CPOV program," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group Vice President - Sales, Service and Parts Operations. "We try to reach the customer with a straightforward, comprehensive certified vehicle program. These results show that we are breaking through the confusion and clutter in the certified vehicle segment."

Chrysler Group offers one of the most comprehensive certified pre-owned vehicle programs in the industry. For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used vehicle program, it must be a 2000 through 2005 model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles, and pass a stringent 125 point inspection. Chrysler Group certified pre-owned vehicles are backed by an 8-year/80,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, a 3-month or 3,000 mile maximum care warranty, 24-hour, 365 day full roadside assistance, and $35 per day rental car allowance.

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles are sold only through Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep(R) dealerships who have earned the Five Star Certification. Five Star Certification is a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation as well as customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. are certified Five Star dealers.
